Berekum Chelsea rule out Owusu's move to local club

Berekum Chelsea have ruled out selling their top striker Kofi Owusu to a local club.

Owusu has emerged as huge target for giants Hearts and Kotoko with Ashantigold and Medeama reported to be interested.

The intelligent striker emerged the goal king this season after racking in 19 goals to put him on the radar of several top clubs in the country.

But Berekum Chelsea director Nana Oduro Sarfo has revealed their prize asset will not sign for a local club.

“Kofi Owusu will not sign for a local club. I can assure you that that will not happen,” he told Accra-based Starr FM

“We are not looking at clubs at home at all. We are focused on abroad if he decides to move on.

“But he’s happy at Chelsea and we intend doubling his salary so he can stay with us.”
