CAF Champions League campaigners Berekum Chelsea this evening suffered a jolt to their semifinal hopes after a 1-1 draw with Zamalek in Egypt.
A victory would have set up Chelsea nicely for the last game at home against TP Mazembe in two weeks’ time.
Chelsea went a goal down after Ibrahim Mohammed was set up by Abdoulaye Cisse to score in the 13th minute.
The Berekum-based team leveled matters 11 minutes later through defender Awudu Nafiu.
Both clubs had chances to win the game but either excellent goalkeeping or poor shooting denied either side.
Berekum Chelsea must now hope that TP Mazembe fails to win against table toppers Al Ahly tomorrow in Lumumbashi, otherwise that will mean certain elimination before the last match in two weeks.
