Black Stars goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare has shared his excitement and determination as he continues his journey with Ghana’s senior national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking about his experience in camp, Asare reflected on how football has transformed his life, giving him the opportunity to travel across different countries and gain valuable exposure as a professional player.
“So far, since I started working, I’ve been able to travel a lot from Ghana to Mexico and from Mexico to the UK,” he said.
“As a footballer and a professional, travelling and gaining experience are very important for success.”

The goalkeeper stressed the importance of maintaining focus and learning from mistakes, insisting that every match is an opportunity to improve.
“The match is very important for me because I want to correct my mistakes and avoid repeating them,” he noted. “I want to stay focused and help win games because losing can affect your confidence.”
Asare also expressed his desire to make Ghana proud and achieve greater success with the national team.
“I want to prove to Ghana that I can do it. I want to play at the highest level and make big achievements,” he added.
The shot-stopper further highlighted the role of discipline, mentality, and tactical guidance within the national team setup, praising the influence of the coaching staff in helping players improve.
“The coach plays a very important role because he instructs and guides the players,” Asare explained. “As a player, you need to have a positive mindset and a strong mentality.”
“When I return to Mexico, we will continue preparing for the World Cup because every player must stay mentally ready and focused,” he said.
