Belgium based Ghanaian seeks national call

Accra, Feb 28, GNA - Baffour Kyei, a Ghanaian based in Belgium is seriously knocking on the doors of the national teams in a bid to make a contribution to the striking success of any of the teams.

The 20 year old striker who plies his trade with Red Star Wassland in the Belgium Division Two league is reported to be one of the players being pursued by some top clubs in Europe.

Speaking to the GNA Sports on phone from his Belgium base, Kyei said he has for the past years' being monitoring the performance of the national team, especially the junior teams and believes he has the striking ability and something positive to offer the nation. According to the player he is confident of making a move to any of the big clubs in Europe in the shortest possible time with many agents and scouts expressing interest with his exploits.

"Playing for the national team has always been my dream and I believe I will be able to prove myself if given the opportunity. Kyei, a former player of King Jesus Stars in Asamankese was also once a member of the Unde-20 side of Liberty Professionals and Kumasi Asante Kotoko before leaving for South Africa.

He played for Manning Rangers before joining Sylva Stars where he became the second top scorer in the Division One League of South Africa recording 20 goals.

Kyei has also had stints with clubs in the French Division two as well as Singapore.

The fast and pacy striker said though he is yet to join the big leagues in Europe, the exposure gained so far has prepared him for national assignments and is looking forward for his first call up.
