Bekoe Slams Danish Deceit

Eric Bekoe has slammed agents who he says employ deceitful means to get players to travel on trials after his return from Denmark.

Bekoe, the best player on the domestic scene, spent one-week with Danish League leaders Odense BK and returned without the contract he thought was almost a done deal.

But now he says that experience has strengthened his position about trials in the past which is that he is only prepared to move when there is a deal on the table.

"When I went, the club was too busy preparing for the Champions League so there was no time to look at me and know the kind of player that I am," he told KickOffGhana.com.

"I was told a completely different story before flying over from Ghana. They told me I was going for medicals."

In fact Kotoko was so confident a deal was on the cards that they insisted Bekoe was merely going for observation and that the Danes were already convinced about him.

But the player says he has learnt his lesson.

"When I say I don't want to go for trials it is not because I feel too big to justify myself, it is because I want to avoid some of these things in the future," he said.

"When some of the agents approach you, they speak as if you have a ready made deal waiting but when you go there you find it is not true. This is about the fourth time I have been deceived by agents."
