Bashiru Hayford promises to silence Tema Youth

Kumasi, Feb. 22, GNA - Head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko F.C. Bashiru Hayford, has insisted that his team was poised to beat visiting Tema Youth F.C. on Sunday as the two sides clash on the resumption of the Onetouch Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi in the 11th Week fixture.

Coach Hayford therefore urged supporters of the 'Porcupine Warriors' to troop to the stadium in their numbers and rally solidly behind the team to ensure that they win the match to maintain their lead on the League. Kotoko currently occupy the first position on the league table with 25 points while Tema Youth are perched at the 14th position on 10 points. In spite of the wide point gap between the two sides and the fact that Kotoko are on form, officials of Tema Youth have however declared their intentions to shock the Porcupine Warriors at their own backyard.

"My team is not perturbed by the threats being issued by officials of Tema Youth since we had the best of preparations when the league went on recess", coach Hayford told newsmen in Kumasi on Friday.

Coach Hayford said morale in camp was very high and the players were motivated to continue with the sterling performance that had seen them take the first position on the league table.

Meanwhile, the Head coach of Tema Youth, Isaac "Opeele" Boateng, has given the assurance that his team has prepared adequately and was in a position to out play Kotoko when the two sides meet on Sunday. "I have the antidote to stopping Kotoko's attacking machinery and the threats they pose on the field of play", he told the GNA sports.
