Barusso seriously injured

Rimini playmaker Ahmed Apimah Barusso was seriously injured yesterday in an Italian Serie B match and looks set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The 21-year-old starlet who has been creating waves lately, with rumours of moves to Inter and Arsenal, was stretchered off with a fractured tibia/shin.

Any suggestion that he could move in January have now been ended after the injury.

The injury came during Rimini's weekend clash against Crotone and Barusso now faces months out of the game. Rimini went on to win the away game 2-0 and have surprisingly leapt up to second place with this victory.

Rimini coach Leonardo Acori said: "Barusso is really important for us and thinking that he will have to remain out for a long period gives us a lot of pain."
