Spanish football giants FC Barcelona have agreed in principle to part ways with their head coach, Xavi Hernández at the end of the 2023/24 season.
The club announced the dismissal of their head coach on Friday, May 24, 2024.
In a statement issued by the club president, Joan Laporta, he stated that Xavi "will not continue as coach of the first team in the 2024-25 season."
According to him, the club held a crucial meeting with their legend to mutually part ways.
Xavi will, however, lead Barcelona out of the dugout for the last time when they take on Sevilla in the last match of the season in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Xavi joined Barcelona in 2021 and led the club to win the Spanish La Liga title for the first time in five years in the 2022/23 season.
His team also defeated Real Madrid that season to win the Spanish Supercopa Cup.
