Banku, Powers return on December 20

Cruiserweight champion Braimah ‘Bukom Banku’ Kamoko returns to the ring after his much-talked-about bout with Ayittey Powers to face Brazil-based South African Thabiso Mogale at the Accra Stadium on December 20.

While Banku will be sorting things out with Mogale, Powers will be embarking on an image redemption mission against Atoli Moore in a light heavyweight clash on the same bill.

Dubbed ‘Super Night’, the World Boxing Federation (WBF) title eliminator is being arranged by Super Entertainment Boxing Promotions (SEBP).

Promoters of the uncompromising clash hinted that winner of the bout will contest for the WBF title in Sydney, Australia, next year in February, under the Super Entertainment Promotion.

Students of the sport have highly tipped undefeated Banku (27-20 KOs) to prevail over his opponent, who has won 16 times and lost by the same number – with two of the fights ending in a stalemate.

Also on the same bill is a clash involving former World Champion Joshua Clottey and 38-year-old Adriano Dos Santos of Brazil.

Tipped to emerge winner in the Lightweight bout is Clottey, who wields a record of (28- 17(KOs)-4) and a draw.

The USA-based Andriano, nicknamed Pipoca, has won 19 times – 14 of which were within the distance, with seven losses.

In other fights, John Amuzu will take on Ray Commey in a super bantamweight thriller while Ben Odametey faces Samuel Turkson in a lightweight tie.
