Bang in goals for your mum -Mahama to Gyan

Ghana President, John Mahama has charged national team captain, Asamoah Gyan to honour the memory of his late mother by scoring more goals for the Black Stars.

Gyan lost his mum, Mrs. Cecilia Love Amoako Gyan Baffour Mensah in a ghastly motor accident in Accra late last year with her burial and final funeral rites set for March 16 later this year. According to the President, Gyan now has it as a duty to hit the target every time he takes to the field just for his late mum. “Let me use this opportunity to commiserate with our captain, Asamoah Gyan on the death of his mother.

“I never had the opportunity because the sad event occurred during the electioneering campaign period and we were busy travelling across the country and some of us didn’t get the chance.

“It’s very sad but I urge you and the family to take heart because we are all mourning with you,” the President explained when Gyan and the Black Stars called on him at the castle, Osu recently.

His Excellency John Mahama added: “Accept my sympathies but it should make you stronger.

“You must become even more determined to bang in more goals for the Black Stars in memory of your mother.

“Now every goal you score is dedicated to her and we expect them to be many.”
