Sweden-born defender Joseph Baffo must apply for nationality switch before he can play for Ghana.
The 19-year-old won the Swedish title with Helsingborg over the weekend sparking interest from Ghana football fans over his international future.
Baffo was born in the Scandinavian country and has featured for the Swedish Under-17 and Under-20 national team.
He must submit documents to Fifa to be cleared before he can switch allegiance.
The defender is a key member of the Helsingborg team who won this season's Swedish elite division title with three matches to spare.
It is not known if Baffo is keen on playing for the Black Stars.
Goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey and Kevin-Prince Boateng who were born in Europe successfully completed their switches.
