Badminton players in a Justify-your-inclusion

Nineteen badminton players would take part in a two-day justify-your-inclusion at the Accra Sports Stadium this Friday and Saturday to prepare for the impending Commonwealth games slated for July this year in Manchester

A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by the Andrew Ocloo, General Secretary of the Badminton Association of Ghana said the exercise is to select outstanding players to form the nucleus of the national team.

He said the number would further be pruned down to at least six after a special competition. The players invited are from Tema, Accra, Takoradi, Koforidua, Obuasi and Cape coast. They are Joana Aryeh, Geraldina Folley, Noah Ayim, Isaac Okai, Samuel Wiafe, Emmanuel Williams and Francis Mireku, all from Accra.

Others are Theresa Tetteh, Mary Sadjie, Tony Arthur, Charles Mensah, Issah Mohamed, Michael Sam, and Mary Twumwaa all from Takoradi while Martin Owusu and Richard Odonkor make the Koforidua team. The rest are Victoria Ackon from Obuasi, Prince Ashie, Cape Coast and Mary Enoo, Tema.
