Badminton clubs to register

The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG) has requested all badminton clubs in the country to register with the secretariat at the Accra office.

The move is to enable the association to comply with the International Badminton Federation's (IBF) request for all affiliate bodies to register their players with the international body.

Such clubs are requested to provide the name of the club, the chairman, location of club and its numerical strength. The Secretary General of the association, Mr Sadoc Oduro, who disclosed this said this, is to ensure that all the potential players are unearthed and provided access to international exposure.

He, therefore, urged club officials to take advantage of the programme to ensure that badminton clubs at the grassroots level get their fair share of the national cake in the sports circle.

He noted that with the new directive from the IBF, a player cannot participate in any international games unless he is registered with a particular national association.
