Baba Rahman puts Black Stars return on hold

Defender Baba Rahman has confirmed putting his future with the Ghana national team on hold as he fights to regain his regular spot at Schalke.

The left-back has struggled for regular first team action at his German club despite recovering from a long-term injury.

Baba has only featured twice for Schalke this season.

He keeps getting snubbed by manager Domenico Tedesco despite the compounding injury woes at Schalke.

There are however calls albeit subtle for the on-loan Chelsea star to return to the Black Stars where he sustained the career-threatening injury back in 2017.

But Baba says he is focused now on regaining first team action with his club hence putting his return to national team duty on hold.

“I have not even started with the Black Stars,” he said.

“Once I am settled, I will be in a position to give it my all.”

Baba’s last game for Ghana was at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations opening group game against Uganda.
