The Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG) has invited 16 national senior and junior players to camp.

The camping fixed for Cape Coast on Saturday, 17th June, 2017, would begin preparations for Commonwealth mixed team and Junior Olympic qualifiers.

Whilst in Cape Coast, the team will be taken through their paces by coaches, Frank Shamo and Ocansey Ahumah with a clear focus on building up their stamina for the upcoming competitions.

According to the BAG, the players were selected based on the aggregate of players-points in games played last year at the national badminton championships while also taking into consideration the financial resources of the Association.

The team, which is made up of seven senior and nine junior players is set to take part in the Ivory Coast Junior International Series from 23-25 June and Senior International competitions from 29th June to 2nd July, 2017 respectively

They would proceed to participate in other tournaments in Cote D’Ivoire, Benin, Nigeria and Mauritius in the next three months to achieve their objectives.

The busy international schedule would see the BAG national team in action at the Benin International 2017 from 6th- 9th July, before making the journey to Nigeria for the Lagos International 2017 from 26th-29th July.

In addition, the junior national team would take part in the Mauritius Junior International 2017 - Junior Future Series, Rose Hill from 11th-13th August, before embarking on a trip to the Badminton Juniors World Cup in Indonesia in October, which also serves as a qualifier for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
