Azumah to take part in "Walk Against Polio"

Accra, Oct 17, GNA - "Professor" Azumah Nelson, former World Boxing Council (WBC) Super Featherweight Champion will on Saturday, October 25, join the residents of Mallam and Weija near Accra in a special programme dubbed "Walk Against Polio."

Shaida Buari, Miss Ghana 2002, will join the former world champion in the walk, which, is being organised by Right to Play, a non-governmental organisation that uses sports to communicate health message.

The exercise starts from the Mallam Cluster of Schools at eight in the morning and ends at Weija where children will be vaccinated against polio.

The walk is part of a month-long social mobilisation effort, which is aimed at educating the public about polio and the importance of vaccinating children under five.

Ghana would soon launch her 2003 National Immunisation Day.
