Zamalek have completed the signing of Ibrahim Ayew on a five-year deal from Ghanaian side Eleven Wise for an undisclosed fee, the Cairo giants announced late on Monday.
"We are confident that Ayew will be a valuable addition to Zamalek squad," the club's spokesman Sabri Serag said.
Ayew, son of Ghana great Abedi Pele, impressed during the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Ivory Coast.
With superb ball control, accurate passing, cannon-like shooting and powerful tackling, the 21-year-old clearly left his mark on the competition to help Ghana book a place in the tournament's final.
Reports in April said that Ayew was on his way to join German side Hoffenheim but the negotiations eventually fell through.
Zamalek are looking to bolster their squad after a disappointing season saw them finish sixth in the Egyptian Premier League to equal their worst ever position.
New chairman Mamdouh Abbas is seemingly fulfilling his vow to bring quality players to Zamalek
Ayew is the club's fourth close-season acquisition following the arrival of defender Amir Azmi, Telecom Egypt striker Ahmed Gaafar and Ghazl Mahalla left back Mohamed Abdul-Shafi.
