Playing in England and travelling thousands of miles for international duty with Ghana isn’t easy but I love it.

Every time I play for my country it’s an honour and I’m also able to play with a free mind. My team-mates have been friends of mine for a long time and I love being part of the squad.

With games against Congo and Rwanda, my last trip was a good one and I was glad to get some playing time.

One of the biggest differences between playing club football in Europe and representing Ghana is that we sing and dance together before games. We praise God and at the same time you can feel the togetherness in the team.

Win, lose or draw it is something we always do. We can’t change the past and it helps us prepare for the future. For example, we lost to USA at the World Cup and it was a disaster, but we were singing on the way to the stadium for our next game to boost our confidence.

The national team have initiations for new players just like they do here, except they must dance rather than sing when they’re called up for the first time.

When I went away with the squad to Philadelphia in pre-season they told me I had to sing, but I spoke to the captain and we agreed it would be fine for me to dance. That way they can experience something new from my culture.

Since I have been at the club I have developed a friendship with Max Gradel and Tokelo Rantie, but I haven’t seen Max since his injury.

When I called him and he said he would be out for three months I couldn’t believe it. He had started playing really well, but football isn’t fair sometimes and you can’t do anything about it. I speak to him every day and he is doing well now after having surgery.

Personally, I’m feeling fit and I’m waiting for my opportunity. I’m doing my best each and every day to be ready because I really want to play.

I hope I will get my chance soon because I have settled well off the pitch. I have lived all over the world and Bournemouth is a very nice town in my opinion. One of the most important things is that there are a lot of sunny days.
