Atsu involved in Bournemouth friendly

Ghana International Christian Atsu was all given 90 minutes in a friendly game on Wednesday evening as Bournemouth lost to Exeter on Wednesday.

The winger was nursing an injury he picked up during the side’s pre-season friendly win over Yeovil Town late last month.

He has however returned to full training, as First-team boss Eddie Howe watched on as a mixed Cherries side went down 3-2 to the League Two outfit in a behind-closed-doors game.

It proved a worthwhile exercise as Atsu, alongside summer arrivals Mings, and Tomlin all played the whole game, while Elliott Ward also completed 70 minutes.

Tomlin put Bournemouth ahead with a fine strike from distance after just eight minutes before Mason Walsh doubled the lead.

However, Exeter battled back well to eventually secure a 3-2 win.

Atsu is expected to make a trip with the newly-promoted side when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool this weekend.
