Ati Zigi Out, Asare In: Probable Black Stars XI against Germany

Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo is expected to play his best 11 players in camp against Germany after the humiliating defeat to Austria in Vienna on Friday, March 27, 2026.

The Black Stars suffered a 5-1 loss in Friday’s friendly, a result that marked the first time Ghana had conceded five goals in a match since a 5-0 defeat to Saudi Arabia in 2007.

Despite Lawrence Ati Zigi's good saves against Austria, Otto Addo is expected to start his first choice goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare in the game against Germany.

Alexander Djiku and Jonas Adjetey were 'disastrous' in the game against Austria but Otto Addo will likely start them as his centre-back pair due to limited options on the bench.

Caleb Yirenkyi made a costly mistake but he will maintain his position at right back while Gideon Mensah replaces Derrick Kohn in the left back position.

In midfield, Ibrahim Sulemana is expected to play alongside Thomas Partey and Kwasi Sibo to pack the midfield against the German side.

Kamaldeen Sulemana will join Antoine Semenyo and Jordan Ayew in attack as replacement for Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Starting XI: Benjamin Asare, Alexander Djiku, Jonas Adjetey, Gideon Mensah, Thomas Partey, Ibrahim Sulemana, Kwasi Sibo, Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Jordan Ayew.
