Ashanti Gold SC dependable defender Abeiku Ainoonson says he’s looking no further than ensuring Premier League survival despite speculation that he is being targeted by other clubs.
The Kotoko loanee who has hit fantastic form since joining the miners in the second round of the Ghana Premier League speaking on Abusua Sports Arena hosted by Kofi Larbi [Governor] indicated that his prime target is to help the Obuasi based side escape relegation ‘before considering a move to different club’’.
He says ”I believe in myself and my colleagues also believe in themselves therefore we are going to survive relegation if we continue to play the way we started the second round of the league”
Quizzed whether there have been offers from clubs both in Ghana and foreign countries emphasized ”Now my focus is on Ashgold, I am doing my possible best to help the club survive relegation”
He added ”Offers may come but if you ask me now I will tell you I want to help Ashgold beat relegation then we take it from there when the season ends”.
Ashgold despite their incredible performance under new coach CK Ackonnor have suffered two consecutive defeats to Elmina Sharks and Liberty Professionals and will be looking forward to beating title contenders WAFA on Sunday in their week 24 outstanding fixture at the Len Clay stadium to boast their chances of beating the drop.
