Ashgold targets money zone

Ashanti Gold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo is looking forward to his side reaching the money zone in next year’s CAF Champions League.

The Obuasi-based club will be Ghana’s sole representative in the Champions League after winning the 2014/15 First Capital plus Premier League.

AshGold managed to secure 53 points out of 30 matches to clinch the trophy for the first time in 19 years.

The Miners will hence be making yet another appearance in Africa’s inter-Club competition having last participated in 1996 when they won their third Premier League title.

Kudjoe Fianoo who guided the side to their historic Premier League diadem is anticipating his side reaching the Group stages of the Champions League.

“Our target is to reach the money zone, even if we can’t go all the way to the finals at least we should replicate what Chelsea did by reaching the money Zone,” he spoke to Peace FM.

“That will even help us to gain our four slots back. So we are targeting the money zone.”

The Club are hoping to make some new signings to beef up their squad for their campaign in Africa next year.
