Ashanti Gold owes me GH¢4000 – Odoi

Former Ashanti Gold midfielder Emmanuel Odoi says the club is yet to pay him GH?4,000, which is due him as part of his signing on fees when he joined the Miners in 2009.

Speaking to Kumasi-based radio station Price FM, the former King Faisal player explained that the top hierarchy of the club paid him part of the money with the understanding that he would receive the remainder, which amounted to GH¢4000, later.

Odoi noted even though he was paid all that was due him when he signed a contract extension in 2011, that GH¢4000 has still not been paid to him.

‘’I signed for Ashanti Gold in the 2009 season. When I was signing the contract they told me they have difficulties with finances so I didn’t receive all the monies due me. I renewed the contract before the 2011/12 season and they paid me in full for that but they’re yet to pay me the arrears left on my initial contract which is GH ?4,000).’’

Odoi also told Price FM that he has gone through all manner of processes to get his money back after his contract was cancelled before the start of this season without success, noting that he would continue to fight for it since he needs money to settle some people he owes as well as his family members.

‘’I have reported it to some of the top managers of the company long time ago but I’m yet to hear from them. I have talked with Mr. Fianoo and even sent him a text message but nothing fruitful was achieved. The accountant once told me that he has paid but upon receipt of my bank statement I saw that it was a lie. I have tried to resolve the issue but whenever I call them they either drop the line or fail to pick. Football is the work that I do. Now people that I owe have been calling me for their money and I need to look after my family too.’’
