AshGold manage a 1-0 victory over Sporting Mirren

Obuasi, May 13, GNA - Relegation-threatened Obuasi AshGold managed a 1-0 victory over fellow struggling side, Sporting Mirren from Accra in their mid-week Glo Premier League encounter at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The only goal of the match came in the 87th minute through a penalty after Abdul Aziz was brought down in the "18" yard box for Daniel Asamoah converting for his side's victory. Both sides played a cautious game right from the blast of referee Samuel Zuka's whistle but defensive play by Mirren prevented AshGold from converting any of their chances. AshGold were awarded an initial penalty in the 47th minute after Addoquaye Addo in an attempt to score was fouled but Daniel Asamoah's kick hit the post and out of play. It was a wonder when head coach David Duncan immediately left the technical bench into the dressing room for no apparent reason and failed to return to the pitch until the final whistle.
