Ghanaian pair Nana Asare and Elisha Owusu were in action for KAA Gent as they defeated Sait Etienne 3-2 in Uefa Europa League group stage opener on Thursday evening.

KAA Gent took an early lead through Jonathan David in the 2nd minute of the game.

Tunisia international Wahbi Khazri scored the equaliser for Saint Etienne after collecting a pass from Romain Hamouma to fire pass Gent's goalkeeper.

In the 43rd minute, Jonathan David bagged his brace to double his side's lead just before the first half.

Gent took a two goal cushion after the break after Loic Perrin scored an own goal in the 64th minute.

Ten minutes later Thomas Kaminski also scored an own goal as Saint Etienne pulled one back to make it 3-2.
