Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has performed the opening ceremony the 62nd Vodafone Asantehene Golf Championship, at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
The four-day championship, which has Vodafone Ghana as the headline sponsor, brought together over 300 amateur and professional golfers across the West African sub-Region.
The event forms part of activities marking the 20th anniversary celebration of the Asantehene's coronation.
In attendance at the opening session was a cross-section of dignitaries, including Mr. Isaac Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Osei Assibey-Antwi, the Mayor of Kumasi, and Ms. Patricia Obo-Nai, Chief Executive of Vodafone Ghana.

He was assisted by the Vodafone Chief Executive and the Omanhene of Manso-Nkwanta, Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah, who took turns to show off their golfing skills on the well-knitted course.
The planned activities include an 18-hole event for the professional and amateur categories, 72-hole event for championship (men's category), and 36-hole events, including ladies' championship category.
