Asante set to sign for Etoile du Sahel

Footy-ghana.com understands that former Hearts of Oak forward Uriah Asante is on the verge of sealing a deal with Tunisian and African giants Etoile du Sahel.

According to our well-placed sources, Asante, who has returned to first division outfit Pure Joy Stars after finishing a loan period with Hearts of Oak, is undergoing medical tests and a short assessment before sealing a deal that will net Pure Joy Stars a cool $200,000 in transfer fees.

Asante had earlier been a target for Premier League champions Asante Kotoko.

Footy-ghana.com also understands that Ashanti Gold striker Yakubu Mohammed, who scored 16 goals in the just ended Glo Premier League, has also travelled to Tunisia at the invitation of Etoile du Sahel and is expected to return on Friday after undergoing trials with the club.

Ashanti Gold CEO Cudjoe Fianoo told footy-ghana.com that the club received a letter from Mohammed's manager this morning, informing them of the invitation.
