Asante Kotoko must beef up their squad ahead of CAF Champions League – Steve Polack

Former Asante Kotoko coach Steve Polack says the Porcupine Warriors must augment their squad ahead of next season's CAF Champions League.

Following their win over Karela United in the final of the Normalisation Committee Special Competition, the Reds will represent the country in CAA inter-club competition,

According to Pollack, coach Charles Kwablan Akunnor must beef up the squad because of the competitive nature of the Competition. He also cautioned the club the CAF Champions league is different from the CAF Confederation Cup.

"Asante Kotoko deserve to be in the CAF Champions League. The players together with their coach have worked hard which attracts such success.

"Moreover, they should add up young quality players to strengthen the team because playing in the CAF Champions League is different from the Confederations Cup. So they have to beef up the squad in other to compete in the Champions League”, the 58-year-old told Light FM Sports.

Last season, Kotoko made it to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup but they failed to advance from the group stage.
