Asante Kotoko have adopted the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium in Obuasi for their home games in the Ghana Premier League.

According to reports in the local media, the Porcupine Warriors will be charged 10,000 for every home game played at the venue.

The reports further indicate that the deal allows Kotoko to take 100% of the gate proceeds of every home game.

Kotoko will host their first home game at the venue on Sunday, September 22, 2024, when they face Young Apostles.

Asante Kotoko moved their home games to Obuasi following the National Sports Authority (NSA)'s decision to close their Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

According to the NSA, the venue will not host any events for a month as it undergoes maintenance.

The NSA has indicated that the venue will officially reopen on October 7 for Ghana's next home game in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The closure follows criticisms of its playing surface during Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.

The stadium will remain closed until October 7, 2024, when it will reopen for Ghana's next home match.

The NSA has received backlash over poor maintenance of the venue over the past months, including handing it over for a church event a few weeks before Ghana's game against Angola.
