Asamoah strikes late in Juve big win

Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah gave a strong indication of his readiness for the upcoming Serie A season when he scored the last goal for Scudetto-holders Juventus in their 5-0 trouncing of Singapore XI in a pre-season game on Saturday morning.

The 25-year-old Black Stars midfielder wrapped up the win for Maximilliano Allegri’s men with a 72nd minute finish at the Stadium of Singapore.

Experienced midfield steamroller Andrea Pirlo registered a brace in the opening half to give the Bianconeris a 2-0 lead before Paul Pogba and Sebastien Giovinco both scored to added their names on the score-sheet.

Asamoah, who had come off the bench to replace former Manchester United man Patrice Evra, dashed into the box to claim a pass to claim a loose ball, latching onto a Pepe blocked effort and smashing it home for his first goal of the pre-season.
