Asamoah's form excites 'Milo'

Accra, May 21, GNA - Black Stars trainer Milovan Rajevac has extolled the current form of Udinese midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah.

The 20-year old touted in the Italian media as the future of Ghana's midfield gem is in scintillating form at the Stadio Fruili outfit. Coach Milovan told GNA Sports that Asamoah stood out tall during his recent monitoring mission to Europe and Asia.

"I was in Europe and Asia to watch several players but Asamoah was exceptional. His form is great, which is good for the national team." The Serb said Asamoah's current form is enough to earn him a place in the squad for the upcoming 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mali and Sudan.

"He will make the team for the Mali and Sudan games. But I can't tell if he will make the first team or start from the bench. That decision will depend on his performance at training. But he is a material we can look up to."

Asamoah who made his debut with the Stars in a friendly against South Africa last February is named in a 32-man squad for next month's qualifiers. The offensive midfielder made a rare appearance for the Stars during the lone goal victory over Benin at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when he replaced Captain Stephen Appiah.

Asamoah's exploits, however brief, was enough to earn him the plaudits from the fans.

The burly midfielder has netted once in 14 appearances for the Udinese-based club, whom he joined in 2008 from Liberty Professionals.
