The latest Ghanaian sensation, midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah, scored his first Italian Serie A goal on Sunday, helping his side Udinese to a 3-1 win over Fiorentina.
He fired Udinese into the lead on 10 minutes before two second half goals by Gaetano D'Agostino sealed the win. Asamoah was given a rapturous reception when he was replaced on 85 minutes by Nigerian defender Christian Obodo.
He moved to the European country just before the 2008 African Cup of Nations in his home country.
Asamoah was signed by Udinese after impressing for local Ghanaian club Liberty Professionals.
By signing for the Italian Serie A side, Asamoah is following in the footsteps of Black Stars linkmen Stephen Appiah and Sulley Muntari.
