Asamoah looking to recapture ‘old magic’

Juventus midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has expressed his desire to recover his top form after making a comeback to competitive action last week in his side’s 3-1 win over Bologna.

The 26-year-old Ghana international had been out of action with a knee injury since November 2014.

“It’s not easy to be sidelined for such a long time,” Asamoah told the club’s official website.

“I’ve been watching games at home or at the stadium with an ever increasing desire to be back out there alongside my teammates.

“I’m training everyday with the team in order to get back to full fitness. I can tell I’m improving day by day and I’m happy.

“By remaining on this track, I’ll be back to my old self – my career is still a long one and I’ve got many years ahead of me.”

Asamoah joined Juventus in 2012 from Udinese, winning with the Old Lady the 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 Serie A titles.

“I’ve had great support from my family, staff and teammates who have always been able to find the right words to give me the positivity I required on my road to recovery,” Asamoah added.

“Now, I’m on my way back and I can’t wait to be out on the pitch.”

The former Liberty Professionals man has been left out of Ghana squad to face Canada in an international friendly on October 13.
