Ghanaian forward Dauda Mohammed has picked Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan as his football idol.

The former Asante Kotoko forward says he learns a lot from the ex-Sunderland attacker and wants to follow his career footpath.

Dauda joined Vitesse Arnhem on loan from Belgium giants Anderlecht in the winter transfer window, where looks to get more play time.

"My big idol is Asamoah Gyan, the captain of the Ghanaian national team. He was the African with the most goals at the World Cup and is the top scorer of all times of the Ghanaian team," he told the De Telegraaf.

My game is similar to his. He is also a fast, easily scoring player. I like to watch his matches, because I can learn a lot from that. I hope to be able to follow in his footsteps," he added.

Despite struggling to break into the first team of Anderlecht, the striker explains the Purple and White rather went with the more experienced players.

"I made 29 goals in 25 games, but I did not play a lot in the first. Some coaches have the principle that they prefer to work with experienced players. As a young player you will then have difficulty playing minutes. At Vitesse I hope to get it now. I am not only a fast player, but also an attacker who easily scores."
