Asamoah Gyan, Princella Adubea win 2017 Sports Personality awards

Ghana soccer stars, Asamoah Gyan and Princella Adubea annexed awards at the GN BANK 2017 People’s Celebrity Awards held at the Accra International Conference Center on Saturday, December 30.

The GN BANK People’s Celebrity is aimed at honouring personalities and stakeholders in the Ghanaian Creative Arts and Entertainment industry under a particular year. The awards are entirely based on public voting.

Black Stars Skipper, Asamoah Gyan beat of completion from deputy captain Andre Ayew, Thomas Partey, Duke Micah, Isaac Dogboe, Richard Commey, Saidck Adams and Winful Cobbbinah to win the Favorite Male Sports Personality of the year.

Prolific Black Princesses striker, Princella Adubea emerged as the Female Sports Personality of the Year. The Ampem Darkoa Ladies forward saw off Alberta Ampomah, Kate Adu Agyemang, Mercy Tagoe, Nadia Eke, Nafisatu Umaru and Sandra Owusu to the award.

Peace FM and UTV’s Sports Journalist, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, won the Favorite Male TV Presenter of the year.

Popular Dancehall musician and producer, Shatta Wale, won the ultimate People’s Celebrity of the Year Award.
