They went, saw and conquered. The impressive story Ghana's Armwrestling team, Golden Ames who won 22 medals at the just ended Africa Armwrestling Championship held Nigeria.

With the 22 medals dangling on their necks and being lead by their hardworking president, the victorious team yesterday presented their medals to the umbrella body of Sports in the country, the National Sports Authority and the Ghana Olympics Committee.

The team was welcomed by the NSA boss Robert Sarfo Mensah who commended them for making Ghana proud and also for rising above the pre-tournament challenges to place second in their debut Africa Armwrestling Championship.

"We are very happy to have you here. You went out there and made Ghana proud and we are grateful to you for bringing glory to this country. You arose above the challenges and showed determination,strength and style to win an impressive 22 medals for this country. It is unfortunate that the NSA has not provided the adequate financial assistance as we are supposed to but we want you know that we really appreciate your efforts", Robert Sarfo told the arm wrestlers.

The GOC president, Ben Nunoo-Mensah thanked the team for their success and promised them of GOC's unalloyed support.

Both the NSA boss and GOC president congratulated Charles Osei Assibey for his election as the Deputy General Secretary of Africa Armwrestling Board and assured him of their support as Ghana's prepares to host the championship next year.
