Armed Forces give to Olympic Committee

Accra, July 16, GNA - The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has donated a cash amount of five million cedis to the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to support the nations' Olympic team towards their preparations for the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.

The Chief of Defence Staff made the donation on behalf of GAF in response to the fund raising programme launched by the GOC dubbed "Ghana for Gold".

Mr B.R. Ayisi, Administrative Manager of the GOC in a Press Release copied to the GNA Sports, expressed gratitude to GAF for coming to their aid as they strive to promote and develop sports in the country. He called on other organisations to take a cue from GAF and donate generously towards a worthy cause.
