Areeba Handball league to resume next week

Accra, Sept. 9, GNA -- The suspended Areeba Handball League will resume at the five centres next Thursday September 14 with interesting pairings.

On Thursday, Police Service will clash against Future Stars at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex, while on Friday, Fire Service meet HOSTAC at the Fire Academy.

Prisons will sort it out against Old Hands at the Prisons Complex while Air Force meet Asomdwe at Burma all on Saturday with Ghana Navy clashing against Ghana Army also at the Burma Camp. The Secretary General of the Ghana Handball Association of Ghana, Saaka Acquaye in a Press Release copied to the GNA Sports said the league was suspended for three weeks to enable Ghana participate in the CAF championships.

He said meanwhile an outstanding match between Air Force and Asomdwe Club will be honoured at the Sacred Heart School courts on Tuesday, September 19.

Mr Aquaye said during the suspension of the league, the National Female Hnadball team won the prestigious African Challenge Trophy held at Lome- Togo a fort night ago while their male counterparts failed to excel.
