Appiah bares teeth

Former Hearts of Oak player Stephen Appiah believes the club could have done better in the appointment of Kenichi Yatsuhashi as head coach.

Appiah, ex-Ghana international, is shocked Hearts snubbed the plenitude of local coaches to install foreigner coach with no pedigree.

“Sometimes it’s sad. That means we are not giving the chance to our own (local coaches) to exhibit whatever they have. We have ex-players who are now coaching so I am shocked that they have gone for a foreigner from Japan,” Appiah told Asempa FM.

Hearts sacked veteran Herbert Addo with seven matches to the end of season and had the club’s goalkeepers’ trainer Eddie Ansah taking charge temporarily.

Appiah played for Hearts between 1995-1997 before his transfer to Italian side Udinese.
