Appiah: You’ll see changes on Saturday

Former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah believes Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah will tinker with his selection ahead of a crunch game against Germany on Saturday.

The former Juventus midfielder, who is part of the backroom staff of Ghana, admitted that the 2014 World Cup opening game against the USA was difficult.

The four-time African champions were beaten 2-1 by the Stars and Stripes in their opening group G game on Monday. Appiah said the coach has gone to the drawing board to make amends.

“First games are always very difficult,” the ex-international told Accra-based Joy FM. “You'll see changes on Saturday. I have spoken to the coach. We have been talking.”

The ‘Tornado’ pointed out that the players “should go out and enjoy the game” and must not allow pressure to overpower them.

It is a must-win tie for the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists in order to survive in the tournament ongoing in Brazil.
