Angry Kotoko fans plan protest against board

Angry Kotoko fans are planning a massive demonstration against the board following reports players have been unpaid wages for three months, which has sparked confusion in the team ahead of their Premier League game against Liberty Professionals on Saturday.

The club’s Chief Executive Samuel Opoku Nti revealed this week that players of the club have been playing on empty stomachs as they are owed wages running into 13 weeks leading to a growing disquiet among the players.

The revelation is a huge indictment on the club’s board members who were appointed by the Life Patron of the club, Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to source for funds to run the affairs of the club.

Player’s confidence level has reduced significantly which has resulted in their not-too impressive displays despite being on top of the table.

The situation, according to reports in Kumasi, could lead to player revolt ahead of their Premier League game against Liberty Professionals this weekend. Angry fans of the club are planning a massive demonstration against the board members for reneging on their duties and bringing the image of the club into disrepute.

Board members of the club are reported to have been given close to $5,000 worth of MTN credit each when players have not received a dime to cater for themselves.

Coach Mas-Ud Dramani must inspire confidence in his team ahead of the must-win game against the scientific soccer lads.

Kotoko are still top of the league but their position has been threatened by the non-payment of the wages of the players which could lead to their eventually relinquishing of the title.
