Andre Ayew sheds light on Marseille impasse

Ghana international Andre Ayew has spoken to the French media about his contract situation at Olympique de Marseille and has admitted that he is yet to make a decision on his future.

The 25-year-old has been unable to agree new terms with his beloved OM and it looks inevitable that he will be leaving the club this summer.

Speaking to Le 10 Sport, however, Ayew has confirmed that he is still to hold discussions with the Phoceens, but that the issue of his future is becoming more and more pressing.

"I will announce my decision when it is taken," Ayew began, “I have offers, I am considering them attentively.”

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are limping over the finish line in Ligue 1. They halted a disastrous four-game losing streak with victory over FC Metz last weekend, but the damage has been done.

The Southern giants have fallen out of the title race and are now outsiders to even claim a Champions League spot.

“I want to finish strongly with OM,” Ayew continued, “my future takes up more and more space in my head.

“We are talking with OM.”

However, the forward once again indicated that an impasse concerning salary demands was the reason he couldn’t agree terms with the club.

“Lowering my salary to stay at OM?” he questioned, “would you lower your salary?”

Should Ayew’s likely departure be confirmed, he will have no shortage of suitors.

He has admitted that he would love to more to the Premier League, and despite tipping Liverpool as his club of choice, the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Everton and Queens Park Rangers may well provide competition for his services.

Elsewhere, Italian sides such as AS Roma and Inter Milan, as well as German heavyweights like Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked to the Black Star.
