Ghana forward Andre Ayew provided an assist for Swansea City in their 2-1 defeat to Stoke City on the final day of the English Premier League at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

The Swans needed to beat Stoke and hope that result between Southampton and Manchester City goes their way on the final day of the league.

The Welsh-based side had a dream start as Andy King showed brilliant composure to connect to Andre Ayew's pass inside the box to fire into the bottom left corner to hand his side the lead in the 14th minute.

However, goals from Senegalese international Pape Ndiaye and Peter Crouch were enough for the Potters, who were relegated last week, to win the match 2-1.

The defeat means Carlos Carvahal's side seven-season stay in the Premier League came to an end as they joined West Brom and Stoke City in being relegated to the Championship.

Andre and Jordan Ayew lasted full period of action for the Swans.
