Asante Kotoko have omitted long-serving defender Amos Frimpong from their CAF Champions League squad submitted to CAF fortnight ago.

The Porcupine Warriors registered 27 players for the competition, dropping the team’s captain to the amazement of many.

It has however been revealed that the player has been granted his request to leave the club by the management, a request Frimpong surprisingly debunked few days ago.

Meanwhile, the latest development suggests that the 27-year-old has attracted firm interest from Guinean heavyweights, Kaloum Stars and a deal is likely to be finalized in the coming days.

According to reports, the Conakry-based side have contacted the management of the Porcupine Warriors for the availability of the versatile defender and asking price has been communicated to them.

The Asante Kotoko squad is undergoing medicals at Adako Jachie training grounds as they look to complete registration for new players to add up to the earlier 27. Ghanacrsader understands that Kotoko are considering to add two more additions after the exclusion of Amos Frimpong and Daniel Darkwah.

Since joining Asante Kotoko in 2011, Amos Frimpong has won eleven major trophies with the Porcupines (3 league titles, 2 FA Cups, 2 President Cups, 2 SWAG Cups, Super Cup 1 and the maiden edition of the NC Special Cup).
