Ambassador Quarcoo is 80 today

One of the country’s finest sports administrators Ambassador Ray Quarcoo would be joined by a host of sports enthusiasts to mark his 80thmilestone today.

Considered as an avid boxing supporter, his rich experience in the pugilistic sport guided great boxers like Ike Quartey, Alfred Cobra Kotey, the Clottey brothers-Joshua and Emmanuel, Joseph Agbeko to realise their potentials.

And in the company of Very Rev.Monsignors Pius Kpeglo and Hilary Senoo, both retired Catholic Priests in their 80s; and Mr. Vincent Quarcoo, his younger brother; embarked on a 7 –day pilgrimage to the Vatican from December 1 to 6, 2015.

Through the facilitation of His Grace Charles Gabriel Palmer Buckle, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra; the team attended high mass given by the Pope, and later was received at the Papal Office by Pope Francis.

While in Rome, the team was hosted at the Missionaries of Africa/Padri Bianchi, via Aurelia and also made a courtesy call on the Ghana’s Ambassadors to Italy and the Vatican, Her Excellency Molly Anim Addo and His Excellency Bebaako Mensah respectively; as well as the former Catholic Pro Nuncio to Ghana, Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello.
