Amankwah Mireku back to Hearts

At long last, the future direction of lateral defender Yaw Amankwah Mireku, has been decided following his arrival at the Hearts of Oak training camp in Keta on Wednesday.

Amankwah, who joined the Phobians from Okwawu United in 1998 has been one of the most loyal and dedicated players of the club until he decided to seek floating status upon his arrival from the United States a few months ago.

Speculations were rife that he was flirting with Asante Kotoko and, later Okwawu United, however, having pitched camp with his Hearts colleagues has eventually put paid to the rumours.

Amankwah?s decision to smoke peace pipe with management and stay with Hearts was due to the GFA?s Player Status Committee ruling that his case be settled out of the GFA?s jurisdiction. It is against this background that both Amankwah and Hearts officials decided to settle the impasse between them amicably.
