On Saturday night at the Resort World Casino in Jamaica, Queens, New York, Ghana’s Duke Micah (21-0, 18 KO’s) successfully defended his WBC international bantamweight belt. The clash was Micah’s debut fight in the United States of America (USA).

Micah won via a majority decision over Mexico’s Jose Santos Gonzalez 23-5 (13 KO’s). The clash was the Ghanaian’s first defense of the belt – he won the belt last March when he stopped Jonathan Aguilar in round seven.

According to reports gathered by Ghanacrusader.com, Micah started the fight very well, and he landed some telling punches.

However, Gonzalez counted on his ring experience and he warmed himself into the fight very well.
The Mexican gave the Ghanaian a good run for his money but the James Town native won the fight to defend his belt.

The judges’ score cards reads, 95-95, 96-94 and 96-94.
