All is set for the first ever women’s only five kilometre run on Saturday, December 8, at the Marina Mall, Accra.
According to the event organisers, Millennium Marathon Sports Ltd, the event starts at 6:am prompt with minor exercises, after which the walk would commence.
Ms. Cathy Morton, the race director said the event was to raise awareness on mental health among women and raise funds for the mental hospitals.
She noted that mental health had been taken for granted and many homes and families were facing mental problems.
She said government alone can not solve all the problems in the country, thus the need for people with sober hearts and caring minds to support or initiate a course for others to follow.
According to Miss Morton, it has not been easy getting support for the project, noted that few benevolent companies like the Marina Mall, Zen Garden, Omo from Unilever, Blue Skies, Dark & Lovely, Verna Water from Twellium Ghana Ltd, PUSH by Esi Yankah, Numero Uno and Claron Health International have shown support.
She said her doors were still open to those who wants to support a worthy cause.
