All is set for Milo U-13 champions league final in Kumasi

All is set for the Milo Under-13 Champions League Final to be staged at the Paa Joe Park in Kumasi, after four schools picked a slot to represent their Regions in the Zone four division.

After a tough two-day competitive, it was Nkawkaw Methodist from the Eastern Region, Akweiman D/A from the Greater Accra, Wusuta D/A from the Volta Region and Krasec L/A Primary from the newly created Oti Region who qualified to the finals billed for 2-6 July in Kumasi.

The qualified schools from Zone Four would join 12 other representatives from Zone1-3 to determine the winner of the 2019 Milo U-13 Champions League where Redeem D/A Primary is the reigning champions.

The winner of Zone Four had to be determined and after the 16 participating schools were taken through checks and a soccer clinic, Nkawkaw Methodist was paired against Krasec L/A while Akweiman D/A were scheduled to face Wusuta L/A Primary from the Volta Region.

The match traveled into penalty shoot-outs to determine the winner in the first semis between Nkawkaw Methodist Primary and Krasec L/A. Both sides put up a splendid performance and in the end, Nkawkaw Methodist won 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 0-0 in regulation time.

In the other fixtures, Akweiman D/A and Wusuta L/A took the centre stage for the second semi-final game, the Greater Accra side were too strong for their Voltarians on the day.

Akweiman D/A braved all odds to thrash Wusuta 3-0 to play in the Zonal finals against the Eastern Regional Champions, Nkawkaw Methodist.

On a rainy day at the Bishop Herman Boys College, the pitch became too soggy for the finals and the organisers decided Kpando Technical hosted the finals.

Goals in both halves from Jonathan Edwards and Nelson Twum, the captain for Nkawkaw Methodist ensured Nkawkaw Methodist emerged the winner in Zone Four.

The other qualified schools to represent their Regions are, Karni primary School, Kaladan primary School, Tanga primary School, WaleWale primary School, Iddrisyya primary School, St. Joseph International, Amoawi Methodist Primary, Boda R/C Primary, Babato Kuma Primary.

The rest are, Talent Bridge Academy, Myohuang Forces, Juaboso D/A Primary, Nkawkaw Methodist Primary, Akweiman D/A Primary, Krasec L/A Primary and Wusuta L/A Primary.

At the end of Zone Four competition, Redeem Primary School was adjudged the Fair Play school, Francis Asamoah from the Nkawkaw Methodist picking the best goalie award, Jonathan Edwards from the Nkawkaw Methodist winning the Best player in the competition, whilst Ibrahim Rashid from Krasec D/A as the top goalscorer.
