All Stars pip Hearts of Oak

Wa, April 10, GNA - Wa All Stars FC put up an impressive performance to beat Accra Hearts of Oak by a lone goal in their 23rd Week Glo Premier League encounter at the Wa stadium on Sunday.

The only goal of the match came in the 81st minute when the striking force of All Stars broke through the Hearts defence giving Godfred Gyasi th= e opportunity to unleash a powerful strike pass the Hearts goalie. The victory of All Stars' over Hearts did not only push them up with the maximum points but ensured that the Phobians did not win a match agains= t them at their Wa home base since joining the elite division.

In the first half of the game, both teams put up splendid performances as they threatened each others goal posts with few shots at goal but it was the front liners of All Stars who proved more purposeful as they slightly dominated the game.

All Stars goalkeeper Robert Dabuo appeared to have a holiday as the Hearts players struggled to get their shots on target. The game remained goalless in the first half with the two teams raisin= g their performance in the second half as they tried to out play each other but was still All Stars who once again dominated play.

Saeed Owusu of Hearts of Oak attracted a yellow card in the 64th minut= e after a violent tackle on Godfred Gyasi while Ishmael Amin of All Stars was also shown a yellow card in the 90th minute. Both teams exhausted all their substitutions with in a match watched by a well large following of supporters' of the home based team which was played under tight security.

Alhaji Issahaku Salia, Upper West Regional Minister and other personalities in the Region were at the Stadium to cheer All Stars to victory.
